Junior League volunteers helped children make healthy "food" out of play-doh at the third Healthy Parents event
The
Healthy Families committee hosted four nutrition and health education programs at Stepping Stones Museum for Children this year. Speakers provided parents with information on understanding nutrition labels, healthy habits, time and stress management and school nutrition programs, while League members entertained the children with activities such as yoga, planting vegetables and nutrition-related crafts and games. The committee also hosted a fun-filled Kids in the Kitchen event at the
George Washington Carver Community Center featuring
crafts and games, healthy snacks, face painting and
an energizing performance by the Zucchini Brothers.
